The seventh major installment in the Ubisoft's best-selling action game series. Plotwise, Assassin's Creed: Empire is a sort of prequel to the entire series, taking players so far back in time as none other installment did - to the ancient Egypt, long before the two opposing orders of Assassins and Templars were founded. Players play the part of a slave, a distant ancestor to Altair - the protagonist of the first Assassin's Creed. Concerning mechanics, the title does not differ significantly from previous installments of the series, still being primarily an adventure game, supplemented with action sequences and carefully planned assassinations. The game world was, of course, with reverence typical of the franchise, adapted to the new setting, bringing back things like the possibility to mount animals or use boats. On the technical side, Empire is said to avoid relying on the achievements of previous installments, while our area of activity is approximately three times larger than what was offered by Assassin's Creed IV.

Another installment in the popular action adventure game series by Core Design, featuring the sexy archaeologist as the main role. The action of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation starts in Cambodia, in the Angkor Wat temple, but the main part of the plot takes place in Egypt, where the heroine happened to have released the evil god Seth, which threatens the whole humanity. To save the world, Lara needs to collect every piece of the mythical Armour of Horus and call upon his help in order to fight the enemy. In contrast to the previous installments of the series, Tomb Raider 4 emphasizes freedom – each location can be visited numerous times in any order. Other elements of the series are virtually unchanged, except the developer gave Lara some new abilities and weapons unavailable before. Tomb Raider 4 is the first title in the series that introduces an option of combining items, which allows us to modify our equipment.

The second expansion to Assassin’s Creed: Origins developed by the creators of the base game – Ubisoft Montreal. This time around, the players get to familiarize themselves with the Egyptian mythology – the story featured in this DLC revolves around the titular curse, which has brought one of the pharaohs back from the world of the dead and unleashed various legendary beasts. In Assassin’s Creed Origins: The Curse of the Pharaohs, developers have increased the experience level cap and allowed Bayek to learn entirely new abilities. This add-on also introduces an entire new region filled with story-related quests and numerous side quests just waiting for the player to be discovered.

The first big DLC for Assassin’s Creed: Origins, set many years after the events from the base game. We play once again as Bayek, who this time goes to the Sinai peninsula and gets dragged into a conflict between Egyptian rebels and Roman occupants. This lets us witness another chapter in the history of the Assassin Order, the rise of which we could see in the base title. Assassin’s Creed: Origin – The Hidden Ones doesn’t change any of game’s mechanics – the only thing that developers from Ubisoft Montreal have changed was increasing the amount of experience our character can earn. Other than that, the add-on focuses on introducing new arena, where we can find both main story missions and various side activities.

A turn-based strategy game developed by independent studio Clarus Victoria. The title takes place in the ancient Egypt. The player controls one of the tribes that live there and is tasked with securing its growth. The general goal is to transform the tribe into the ancient empire known from the history books. Predynastic Egypt is a turn-based game, in which the action takes place on a two-dimensional map. The map was reconstructed based on archeological discoveries, historic writings and climate changes that happened between 5000 BC and 3000 BC. The objective during the game is to expand into new territories, gather resources, produce food, develop new technologies and create possibly largest and most advanced army that could face the greatest opponents. What makes things complicated is the fact that player’s subjects are frequently forced to face natural disasters and epidemics. Religion can impact their lives as well. The title features simple, clean graphics and a catchy soundtrack.
