Everdeep Aurora

Mechanics

The game is an adventure platformer with heavy arcade elements. The playable character ventures down into the Everdeep, discovering numerous mysterious locations. Using her nimble paws, she destroys interactive objects blocking her path or jumps on walls to reach higher platforms, making her way deeper underground. It's up to us which path Shell takes through the depths - whether she explores mysterious caves or underground dwellings.

Occasionally she'll encounter some of the land's peculiar inhabitans, with whom she can talk to. NPCs can provide her with valuable information, for example, regarding nearby buildings. She also gathers valuable items along the way, which can come in handy later on. Sometimes Shell can also trade with encountered characters.

The game's world is full of diverse puzzles and mini-games. In addition to the main quests, there are also side quests offering additional rewards.

Technical aspects

Everdeep Aurora is a 2D side-scroller making heavy use of pixel art. The color palette of each area is dominated by two or three primary colors, each building and character being clearly outlined. To the right side of the screen we'll see a map of the currently explored location, while to the left there's our equipment and the text window, which displays detailed information regarding each selected interactive object.

The game's atmospheric soundtrack changes and matches each visited location.
