A collection of remastered versions of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Chronicles and Angel of Darkness, made by Aspyr Media. Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered set features an optional modern controls scheme, better character models & textures and high resolutions support.
Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered is a collection of remastered versions of the fourth, fifth and sixth main installments in the Tomb Raider action-adventure game series, originally released between 1999 and 2003:
This is the second such compilation released by Aspyr Media, after Tomb Raider I-III Remastered from 2024.
In all of the games from the Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered collection we play the role of a fearless archaeologist – Lara Croft. In Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, the protagonist finds herself in Egypt, where she accidentally awakens the ancient deity – Set. Given that the heroine brings about the vision of the end of the world, from now on her primary goal becomes finding the armor of Horus, an artifact capable of stopping the ancient god.
In Tomb Raider: Chronicles we take part in events from Lara Croft's past. Despite the fact that Lara did not return from Egypt and was declared dead, she still lives in the memory of her friends, who meet at her family residence to reminisce about her adventures related to the search for the Philosopher's Stone and the Spear of Destiny.
In Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness the main character returns, although not in glory. Accused of murdering her former mentor - Werner von Croy, she becomes a fugitive, and in an attempt to clear her name, she gets entangled in a plot involving alchemy and ancient artifacts.
The basics of the gameplay in Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered were developed for the needs of the earlier parts of the series. We watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP) and play as Lara Croft, traveling through various locations - from Egypt, through Rome, to Paris.
Exploring them, we face platform challenges, solve various logical and environmental puzzles, and also eliminate enemies using an extensive arsenal that includes pistols, a revolver, uzi, or even a shotgun. On our path, we encounter not only hostile people and wild animals, but also fantasy creatures straight from myths and legends.
Each of the games included in the set introduces specific novelties related to mechanics. While in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation the levels became larger and non-linear, and Lara learned to climb poles or swing on ropes, in Tomb Raider: Chronicles the protagonist can walk on ropes.
In Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness the archaeologist can chat with other characters and develop her skills as she progresses, and her range of moves has been significantly expanded. Moreover, the third of the mentioned games allows us to take control of another character – Kurtis.
When preparing the Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered collection, the companies Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics followed the path set by the previous compilation. The authors focused primarily on the graphics, replacing textures and thoroughly refreshing the character models, as well as increasing the resolution. Just like before, there is nothing stopping us from switching to the original visuals at any time. An additional modern control scheme was also prepared (by default the game uses the classic tank controls scheme).

Aspyr's renovation project tackles the three lesser Crofts, with intriguing results.
SteamDeckHQ: 3.5 / 5 by Noah Kupetsky
Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered is a fantastic remaster of some of the classic Tomb Raider titles that makes them as playable as possible. Aspyr's enhancements have made these titles much better looking and easier to enjoy, with great new features like the wonderful photo mode and fly-by camera for cinematic shots. The original games do have some quality-of-life features to make them more playable, but there are still some issues with controls and speed that still keep them feeling more like a slog for newcomers. Still, this is easily the best way to enjoy the games currently, and they can be a ton of fun if you have the patience. They all run especially well on the Steam Deck too. The Last Revelation and Chronicles run better than The Angel of Darkness, but they're all a joy to play on the go with solid battery life and an easy 60 or 90 FPS.
Smash Jump: 7 / 10 by Daniel Leal
Overall, Aspyr has done a really good job of remastering Tomb Raider 4-6. The fact that you can switch between old and new graphics with the flick of a button is a feature I’d like in every remaster of a classic 90s’ game. The feature of saving at any time is also a good addition. It’s almost like having save states. Since these games are old and established, giving the player freedom over how these games are played is a positive feature.
