Developed in 1990 by Broderbound's Wolfpack simulator, you'll be able to take control of both the title "Wolfpack flocks" of Nazi U-Boots and Allied convoys trying to transport supplies to endangered ports. The action of the game - as one can easily guess - takes place during World War II and, as its authors boast, is historically correct.

The biggest plus of Wolfpack is connected with simultaneous control of many ships at the same time. The player does not focus on one submarine or merchant ship, but commands a whole range of units. Thanks to this, the authors managed to introduce a tactical element into the classic simulator, associated with the careful planning of subsequent moves. As the game takes place in real time, the situation on the radar should be monitored on an ongoing basis and in case of danger, you should react by sending ships to strategic positions.

This approach to the subject of the simulation made the authors decided to push all the commands on one screen, which, on the one hand, makes it easier and, on the other hand, makes navigation more difficult. The minus is certainly the tiny window, in which you can see the surrounding waters - the units seem too small and sometimes difficult to recognize them.

The game offers twelve loose, unrelated missions. There is no unequivocal division between the parties to the conflict, and in Wolfpack we will not find any career mode either. The number of scripts is strikingly poor, but the game has an easy-to-use editor, which allows you to quickly create new theatres of struggle.

The audio-visual setting does not raise any objections, especially in the best mode - VGA. The mouse-supported interface is very clear, although the plethora of icons and indicators on a single screen may initially be a considerable difficulty.
