Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade is an action adventure game with roguelite elements. It is set in a fantasy version of feudal Japan, enriched with mythological and demonic motifs. The game was developed by the independent Taiwanese studio 7QUARK, and its publisher is Game Source Entertainment.

Story

The game's action takes place in an alternative version of the Edo era, where a fragile balance has reigned for centuries between the world of humans and the realm of demons. Although there were incidents, they coexisted thanks to the bravery of a legendary warrior named Yasha, who 300 years earlier had stopped a demonic invasion during the Bloody Moon.

Peace lasted until the appearance of the Nine-Tailed Fox - a powerful demon who united the underground forces and launched another offensive against the world of mortals. In the face of chaos, the spiritual successor of Yasha appears - a warrior wielding a legendary blade.

I think I really enjoyed Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade because I didn’t spend a lot of time chasing the next Hades clone after the success of the progenitor. There have been attempts, but I missed them, and I didn’t get into the sequel early access yet. So something that reminds me that isometric, fast paced, incrementally improving titles are fun as hell is important, and Yasha hits those notes with aplomb.
