Chairs are the Biggest Enemy of Dark Knight and Tenet's Director
Actress Anne Hathaway revealed that director Christopher Nolan does not allow the use of mobile phones and chairs on his film sets. This is probably to make work on ambitious productions more efficient.

Christopher Nolan (creator of such films as Interstellar, Inception and the upcoming Tenet) is known for his ambitious and expensive works, which are usually based on original ideas and very quickly become box office hits. The director has long since earned such a good reputation that many movie maniacs go to see his films without any questions. Recently it turned out that Nolan's film sets are governed by quite unusual rules (which are most likely there to make the work go much more smoothly).
Actress Anne Hathaway (she played in i.e. Interstellar and The Dark Knight Rises) in a conversation with Hugh Jackman for Variety revealed that Nolan does not allow the use of mobile phones and... chairs on the set.
"Chris also doesn’t allow chairs. I worked with him twice. He doesn’t allow chairs, and his reasoning is, if you have chairs, people will sit, and if they’re sitting, they’re not working. I mean, he has these incredible movies in terms of scope and ambition and technical prowess and emotion. It always arrives at the end under schedule and under budget. I think he’s onto something with the chair thing."
Let us recall that Christopher Nolan is currently working on another film, Tenet. The movie will tell the story of a spy plot to prevent World War 3. The leading roles will be played by John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh. We recently learned that Tenet, after another delay, will not debut until August 12.
