Devs of the surprise hit on Steam are working hard on the game but had to delay the first major REPO update
The first update of R.E.P.O. is taking the developers longer than they originally expected. The reason is the unexpected success of the game, because of which they can't even sleep.

One of the biggest hits on Steam this year, REPO, was released back in February, but so far it hasn't received any major updates. In March, the developers revealed what we can expect first patch, but recently they admitted that its creation will take longer than originally assumed.
As explained in the above video by Pontus Sundstrom from the semiwork studio, the reason is the surprise that the huge success of this co-op horror game caused among the developers. Due to the high interest from players, they have to do a lot of behind-the-scenes, "boring stuff" that is unfortunately necessary for the game to keep running.
We want to assure that we are working as hard as we can to get this update out to you guys. The first update will take a bit longer as the huge success of REPO came upon us like a surprise, so there's a lot of admin stuff and boring stuff that we have to do behind the scenes, and of course work on the game and make sure everything is steady and ready for release.
The work on the game takes so much time for the devs that they don't even have a moment for a full rest. Sundstrom joked in the material that since the game's launch, they only slept once and didn't have a chance to do so afterwards.
In an earlier video, the team admitted that they are still learning many things about game development, which also affects the speed of releasing updates. It's not surprising, because REPO is only the second game from semiwork studio, after Voidigo, which didn't achieve much success, and it's also created on a different game engine.
As we are working on the first update for REPO, it will naturally take a bit longer the first time because we are still learning things as we go, and we want to make sure that we learn stuff the right way
This means that the next updates should appear much faster, as the developers will gain the necessary experience.
