Single Dev Working on XCOM & Left 4 Dead Hybrid Strategy Game. Here’s First Trailer for Dead Season
A turn-based tactical game, a sort of blend of the XCOM series and Left 4 Dead, has been revealed. Dead Season is being developed by one person.

You might be interested in the upcoming game Dead Season if you're a fan of survival-themed games with hordes of zombies. The game was officially announced today, accompanied by a short trailer with gameplay fragments (below).
Dead Season seems to be a unique blend of the XCOM series (featuring a distinctive top-down camera and turn-based combat) and Left 4 Dead (especially in terms of atmosphere and the threat posed to the player by zombies).
- Dead Season will be set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by the undead. The main protagonists are people who are unfamiliar with each other but are brought together by the desire to struggle for survival.
- In the game we will take control of a 4-person group of survivors. The aim is to ensure the survival of the main characters, which involves battling enemies and gathering essential resources. As progress is made, the protagonists will acquire, among other things, new skills.
- Avoiding direct confrontations with zombies will be crucial in Dead Season, as the monsters tend to appear in large groups, posing a challenge for the group of survivors. Undead are drawn to noise, so it's important to plan your actions and be mindful of how much you shoot.
- The title will offer 16 missions. We will get to know the story of our characters thanks to comic interludes in the film.
It's worth noting that only one person, Pavel Kharev, is developing the game. The studio Snail Bite, founded by him, is located in the Netherlands.
Dead Season's dev will share more information about the project in the coming months. Pavel Kharev hasn't specified the exact release date for the game, but he anticipates it will be in 2024. A demo of the game will probably be made available before its debut on Steam (via PC Gamer).
