“The nerves never passed.” This one movie made Liam Neeson terrified to star in it
Liam Neeson was apprehensive about his new role, which is radically different from what the actor has become accustomed to in his work.

There is one film that has awakened fear in Liam Neeson at the thought of him starring in it. And it's one of his latest, which audiences haven't yet had the chance to see. We're talking about the reboot of the iconic The Naked Gun, which is set to revive a series associated mainly with Leslie Nielsen.
The star of the upcoming film The Naked Gun is Neeson, who, as he confessed during an interview with Collider, is not used to appearing in similar projects. Comedy is not a genre he has become famous for, which made him apprehensive about appearing in The Naked Gun. The actor was afraid that he wouldn't live up to the role, which, in addition, has high expectations; after all, he's playing in a reboot of a cult comedy series, whose fans are sure to be curious about the new installment.
The nerves never passed. We wrapped it two months ago... about three months ago, actually, in Atlanta. I think it went well. […] I trusted Akiva [Schaffer, writer/director] very much because it's a genre I'm not really used to. I've done a couple of little TV sketches that might last two minutes or something. But, for a whole movie, this was a novel experience for me. So I was a bit nervous, and I was a bit nervous most days. Because I wasn't sure if I was funny, to be honest.
Neeson confessed that although his nerves never left him, he believes he was up to the task, helped by the director and writer of the new The Naked Gun. Thanks to his help, the actor, who feared he wasn't funny, was able to handle his new role.
Work on The Naked Gun finished four months ago. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 1, 2025, so we'll have to wait a little longer before we see how Liam Neeson works in a comedy movie.
