When we heard that The Duskbloods will be a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive release, many fans had their hearts torn. It would make this game another FromSoftware’s title that’s locked behind a specific platform. It’s definitely a shame, especially that even Armored Cored has been multiplatform when it comes to its latest entry, Fires of Rubicon, covering all of the major devices. Knowing how Nintendo protects its IPs, we can probably expect The Duskbloods to never go beyond the Switch environment. However, there is a spark of hope which lets us believe that the situation will be different this time. Who knows, maybe we will even see this production on Steam? Here you will learn what allows us to have faith in such bold claims.

Will The Duskbloods be available on Steam?

While the most recent spin-off from FromSoftware’s hands, Elden Ring Nightreign, is not even out yet, it has been announced that a new title developed by this studio is in works. The Duskbloods takes a similar approach to the previously mentioned game. It will be a PvPvE experience that has supposedly been inspired by Escape from Tarkov. While this might be a niche among fans of the studio, there are many players who would like to play it but might not be able to due to Switch 2 exclusivity. There’s an information that let’s us believe that the exclusivity will be only temporary, and we might see it on Steam one day.

Since The Duskbloods brand is owned solely by studio led by Hidetaka Miyazaki, we can hope that it will follow a different path than the legendary Bloodborne. We have heard it multiple times from the director that they want their games to reach as many players as possible. However, we have to remember that we live in the world of business and economy, and the most important thing in making games is actually money. Having an exclusive contract with Big N probably secured financial stability and freedom of creativity for developers. We should be also thankful for that, as maybe without Nintendo’s input, this title would have never been created.

Either way, as of now, there is no concrete information that would confirm or deny whether the exclusivity of The Duskbloods is permanent. However, we have some signs that can fill us with hope that Steam may be one of the future destinations of the most recently announced FromSoftware’s production. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
