„You versus your wallet.” Project CARS devs discussed the career mode and announced the release date of their new game, Project Motor Racing
Although Forza Horizon 6 was delayed to 2026 (probably), the second half of 2025 will not be boring at all for racing fans. In the fall, the informal continuation of the Project CARS series - Project Motor Racing - will debut, which will feature an interesting career mode.

Since the new installment of the Forza series - Forza Horizon 6 - has been postponed to next year, the summer and autumn will belong to the devs of other racing games. Even the studio Straight4, made up mainly of veterans from the Project CARS series led by Ian Bell, will take advantage of the free spot in the calendar.
On November 25, Project Motor Racing - a racing simulator - will hit the market, which in fact continues the mentioned franchise (but informally, because the rights to it currently belong to Electronic Arts). The devs revealed the release date with the trailer, while also outlining the gameplay in the single-player career mode in PMR.
Straight4 aims to authentically depict the challenges that race car drivers currently face at the high international level of motorsport, which means we'll be constantly worrying about money. "You versus your wallet" is the mantra according to which the career was designed.
Apart from the usual car purchases, we'll also have to cover expenses for repairs and even for participating in races. This includes travel costs and entry fees, which depend on the continent where we choose to base our racing team. Therefore, the player's primary goal won't be to win all the races, but... survival, understood as balancing between bankruptcy and achieving the goals set by our sponsors (depending on the type of contracts concluded with them).
At the start of our career, we will choose one of three scenarios, deciding at what level we want to start. Nothing will stand in the way of jumping straight into the most prestigious prototype Hypercar class cars, instead of gradually climbing and switching to increasingly powerful machines - but even in this situation, one crash can end us, especially in the default hardcore mode, in which the option to restart races won't be available.
Project Motor Racing is heading to PC, PS5, and XSX/S.
