Baldurs Gate 3: Get help from Healer Nettie walkthrough
Get help from Healer Nettie is the main story mission in the BG3 game, which takes place in the Druid's Grove. We suggest how to find the healer Nettie and how to get the antidote for the poison.
Last update:
Get help from healer Nettie is one of the main quests in the first act of Baldur's Gate 3. The titular healer is one of the potential leads you may come across while looking for a cure for the parasite in your head. On this page of the guide, we described how to obtain medicine and antidote from the healer Nettie.
Where is Nettie?
You can learn about the healer Nettie by talking to NPCs in the Druid Grove or by choosing the peaceful solution to the Free Lae'zel quest. Nettie is located in Kaghi's quarters, right in the heart of the Emerald Grove. You will most likely end up there during another quest, while trying to save Arabella from the judgment of the arch druidess. Talk to her - to receive her help, you have to admit that you've been infected with a tadpole. Nettie will take you to the library and close the door behind you.
How to get medicine from Nettie?
Nettie will start asking you about your symptoms. Unfortunately, Nettie does not have the medicine you are looking for. Depending on the dialogue options you choose, the conversation can go in two ways:
- If you are truthful and detailed, meaning you give Nettie your symptoms and say that mind flayers kidnapped you, the conversation will proceed peacefully. Nettie will admit that there is no cure for you and will give you a vial of poison. She will demand that you drink it if you feel a change. Promise, and you will be able to leave the room - the task will be over. You will also find out that your best lead is Halsin, imprisoned in the goblin camp - you should definitely look for him. The poison may come in handy later, during the fight, and especially during the infiltration of the goblin camp - you can use it there to poison their alcohol. If you refuse to make a promise, Nettie will attack you.
- If you avoid details, Nettie will ask you to reach out. If you agree, she will cut you with a poisonous thorn - you will have to get the antidote from her. If you refuse, Nettie will try to prick you with a thorn - to avoid poisoning, you must perform a Dexterity (DC 10) or Intimidation (DC 15) skill check. Succeeding on the skill check will lead to another - Persuasion (DC 10), Medicine (DC 10), History (DC 10) or Intimidation (DC 10). Succeed and Nettie won't try to poison you anymore - she will also offer you a vial of poison to drink if you start undergoing transformation. Failure will lead to a fight.
If Nettie poisoned you, there will be another conversation. She has an antidote - you can take it by force or peacefully through one of the ability checks - Deception (DC 15), Medicine (DC 10), or History (DC 15). If you succeed, Nettie will once again offer you poison to drink as a last resort, and an antidote. If you fail, you will have to fight her.
Nettie is fighting alone against you and she has little health, so she shouldn't cause you any trouble. However, she has access to area spells, such as Thunderwave. She can deal some serious damage if you let her, but the dwarf will probably only have a chance to attack once before she dies. After the fight, take her diadem, which will open the large, stone doors to the library and allow you to leave the room. This will finish the task.
